Laurence Hodgson is the Head of Ports Infrastructure and Connectivity in the Department for Transport. In this role he is responsible for promoting port transport connectivity, as well as co-ordinating cross-Government oversight of port investment and identifying opportunities and facilitating connections between ports and potential investors.

Laurence has been a civil servant since 2016, with experience working across government in various roles in the Department for Work and Pensions, Department of Health and Social Care, and the Health and Safety Executive. He has worked in a variety of policy areas including on HS2, EU Exit, and post-Grenfell building safety reforms.
