Gordon Rankine is Chair of the Society of Maritime Industries’ Ports and Terminals Group and Director of Beckett Rankine. Gordon has more than 40 years of experience in planning and designing of ports and marine facilities in the UK and across the world. These projects have included modifications to harbours, the development of container terminals and berthing facilities for oil and LNG carriers, as well as terminals for dry bulk, RoRo ferries and passenger vessels. Gordon is keen to share his practical experience as we move through various transitions in the ports industry, adopting innovations and addressing the challenges associated with decarbonisation, automation and the increased use of data.
